Position Purpose
The JED Campus Project Coordinator will enhance campus-wide initiatives by providing expertise to the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of projects related to mental health and wellbeing (e.g., communications materials). In this two-year term position, with potential for renewal, the JED Campus Project Coordinator will also work collaboratively and creatively with a multidisciplinary team to provide administrative support to the implementation of the JED Campus initiative for student mental health and wellbeing. In performing this work, the coordinator will demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp
Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in health education, health promotion, communications, marketing, public health, public relations, social work, education, sociology, psychology, or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience
2 or more years of experience working in health promotion, communications, public health, higher education, student affairs, or a related area
Exceptional oral, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to employ tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations
Demonstrated proficiency synthesizing, writing, editing, and reshaping complex content for target audience(s) in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Highly organized with strong project coordination skills, including ability to work independently, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and time management.
Strong proficiency in key computer applications (e.g., Word, Powerpoint, Canva) and basic proficiency or willingness to learn others (e.g., Excel, Sprout Social, Word Press, Drupal, InDesign)
Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for inclusive health communication products and strategies
Demonstrated ability to relate to constituent groups within the college community (e.g., students, staff, faculty, senior leaders, alumni)
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute as a positive team player
Demonstrated strategic thinking and creativity
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in health education, health promotion, communications, marking, public relations, public health, social work, education, sociology, psychology, or related area and more than 2 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated evidence-based and evidence-informed communications experience in the areas of health/wellbeing promotion, mental health (may include substance use and/or eating disorders), and/or harm reduction (e.g., health communications campaign, website content development)
Experience developing culturally inclusive communications and working with and/or advocating on behalf of marginalized people (e.g., African-American, Asian-American, International, Latinx, LGBTQIA+, Native American communities) and integrating the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging into all aspects of work
Experience working in a higher education environment or with college-aged individuals
Articulated knowledge of issues affecting contemporary college students' mental health and wellbeing

This content includes, but is not limited to, multi-component health-related campaigns to address key outcomes pertaining to student mental health and wellbeing, website content (verbal and visual, including visual representations of data), PowerPoint slide decks, newsletters, social media messages/images, posters, and written reports.

Plans, manages, coordinates, and seeks to improve administrative functions for JED structures (e.g., work groups) to help ensure timely, effective, and efficient operations (e.g., scheduling meetings, creating agendas, attending meetings, maintaining meeting notes, and synthesizing information across meetings, documents, and/or sources).

Works closely with the JED project manager and others to plan, organize, and run events (e.g., community input forums) that advance the JED initiative and related strategic planning. Also processes and reports any related data.
