Elementary Teacher
| Teachers are committed disciples of Christ called by God to serve at Deep Valley Christian School and to invest in the lives of students. Teachers teach the truth of God's Word, giving students the opportunity to come to know and love Christ so they can serve the purposes of God in their generation. Teachers are committed to academic excellence grounded in Biblical truth to help prepare students to face the challenges of their world. They foster a vibrant and compassionate community, equipping students in their development of Godly character to be shown in caring service. >Responsible for teaching and modeling the truth of God's Word, with emphasis on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Provide Christ-centered education throughout the day in word, deeds, examples and curriculum. >Responsible to assist in preparing a program of study at the appropriate grade level which includes organized lesson plans. Plan to employ a variety of methods to reach the individual needs of the students. >Teach students using appropriate curriculum and methods with a goal to ensure student success. Assess the learning of students on a regular basis and provide reports and communicate with parents and administration to evaluate student progress. >Maintain a clean, well-supplied and organized classroom. Set clear guidelines for behavior and maintain class control, which is conducive to learning and creates a positive, safe environment. >Clearly communicate verbally and in writing with parents, students, and school personnel, listening to others and offering constructive and positive feedback and encouragement. Represent the school professionally treating others with dignity and respect and maintaining confidentiality. >Be punctual in attendance to manage classroom, attend devotions, meetings and events. Implement school policies, procedures, and directives in harmony with the school board and administration.

Teacher Qualifications:
* Be a believer and born-again follower of Jesus who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.
* Attend and participate in daily devotions and be committed to prayer.
* Attend a Bible believing church.
* Believe that the Bible is God's Word and the standard for faith and daily living.
* Be a Christian role model both in and out of school to students, parents, peers, and the community. This includes upholding the tenets of the Statement of Faith and leading by example in modeling Christian Biblical conduct in word and deed, with dignity, respect, and grace-filled Christian living.
* Reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity.
* Be called of God to the teaching profession and to the ministry of a Christian school.
* Demonstrate spiritual maturity and a teachable spirit.
* Exhibit the highest standards of honesty and integrity.
* Demonstrate the ability to accept and carry out responsibilities and make competent professional decisions.
* Know principles, methods, and techniques for teaching students of various ages.
* Know and understand child growth, child development, and behavior characteristics.
* Have experience with educational curriculum, instructional goals, and objectives.
* Ability to plan, organize, develop, and conduct a comprehensive instructional program.
* Ability to assess the needs and progress of students.
* Two or more years of classroom teaching experience is preferred.
* Knowledge of computer technology is preferred.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
* Ability to communicate well with parents, students, school personnel and others in positive and constructive ways maintaining confidentiality.
* Ability to write with skill, and to teach writing skills to students. Must be able to write on white boards or other media as needed.
* Must be able to orderly supervise children in various settings (class, playground, events.)
