They will follow established project management processes to deliver assigned projects on time, within budget and meet high-quality standards and stakeholder expectations. They will manage all operational and tactical aspects of IT projects including planning, cost management, scope management, change management, resource management, communications, schedules, deliverables, and quality.

Essential Functions
Essential Project Manager functions
- Creates and adjusts detailed project plans and proactively manage detailed schedules and milestones.
- Determines project risks on an ongoing basis, escalates issues and drives resolution.
- Documents resourcing needs, availability and commitments. Provides insights on resource allocation.
- Provides clear, accurate and timely communications; including status reports with project-specific KPIs.
- Manages relationships with IT resources, vendors, stakeholders and user community.
- Comfortably facilitates and handles project communication with project team, requesting university groups, and senior stakeholders.
- Manages changes to project scope.
- Provides weekly update of status of projects key health indicators from concept through implementation.
- Tracks costs and performance, service levels and other metrics required to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
- Works closely with multiple departments and teams and drive successful project delivery.
- Handles multiple projects and assignments.
- Managerial responsibility within a function, with responsibility for setting expectations, defining roles and coaching team members.
- Contributes to evaluating and making recommendations on resource requirements on projects.
- Provides work direction/coaching to team members.
- Managerial and supervisory responsibility for several technical professionals within a function.
- Facilitates meetings.
- Distills complex subjects into key messages.
- Assists directors in crafting and delivering difficult project messages.
- Communicate status, progress, and impact to management.
- Creates a project environment which encourages sharing of diverse views.
- Establishes deliverable structure and content.
- Develops implementation plans for the overall project.
- Assesses implication of changes in scope.
- Identifies changes in scope of work and communicates appropriately.
- Applies engagement project management procedures.
- Develops, schedules and staffs detailed project.
- Resolves issues in a timely manner.
- Reviews team's work for quality and thoroughness.
- Demonstrates ability to supervise a team.
- Manages major components of projects.
- Demonstrates understanding of complex transactions and related configuration options.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, business administration or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years relevant experience.
- Google Suite, MS Office Suite (Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio), TeamDynamix.
- Demonstrated understanding of Fordham's culture and environment, as well as the technical, business and cultural environment of higher education in general.
- Familiar with teaching environment, curriculum development and processes.
- Strong skills in the performance and supervision of the following are required:
- Specific application of concepts within area of technical expertise
- Ability to actively contribute and oversee all phases of projects (i.e., diagnoses, designs, codes, tests, implements)
- Project management
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
- Independent management of own workflow and work outcomes
- Customer service
- Ability to interact professionally with staff, faculty and students
- Interaction and collaboration with vendors
- PMP or Prince2 or Six Sigma Certification.
- Strong PM and strong BA skills with minimum of 5 years of combined experience as a project manager and business analyst across the full project lifecycle.
