Senior Financial Research Administrator
As the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), Senior Financial Research Administrator, you will be a part of the Post Award team and play an important role in financial compliance oversight and post award administration. This position requires a significant emphasis on customer service, financial monitoring and an understanding and ability to interpret complex regulations, requirements and terms and conditions to ensure compliance. As part of the Financial Post Award Administration team in OSP, you will interface regularly with other OSP staff, department and college research administrators, University central office staff, faculty, and external sponsors.

Responsibilities:
- Reviews and approves financial transactions for compliance with university and sponsor guidelines;
- Serves as a resource to faculty and department or college level administrators regarding matters related to award set up, sponsor terms and conditions, and policies, procedures, and federal requirements governing post award management of sponsored awards;
- Maintains a working knowledge of external regulatory requirements to ensure compliance;
- Completes award set up for new awards and processes modification for assigned portfolio of units;
- Responds promptly to inquiries or requests for assistance as they relate to post award financial management. Performs analysis of issues and determines appropriate resolution;
- Assist in the preparation of materials related to audit inquiries for internal, sponsor, federal or state audits;
- Serves on working groups or other special initiatives as needed; and
- Reports to the Director, Post Award and completes special projects as needed and performs other related duties incidental to the position.
Required Qualifications:
- Considerable relevant professional experience in research administration (generally 3+ years);
- Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Accounting, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Post award experience and extensive knowledge of Uniform Guidance;
- Knowledge of, and ability to interpret, federal, state, sponsor and university guidelines;
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teams throughout the university;
- Strong skills in Excel and other Microsoft based software applications, problem solving & analytical skills, and strong attention to detail; and
- Well organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Ellucian Banner financial system;
- Knowledge and experience with sponsor research administration systems;
- Experience in an academic or related research environment; and
- Certified Research Administrator or similar accreditation.
Candidates must be:
- A citizen of the United States;
- A person who is a lawful permanent resident of the United States (a “Green Card” holder);
- A person who is a “protected individual” as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a) (3); or
- A person who is otherwise able to become generally eligible to receive unclassified technical data pursuant to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
