Job Description:
Work with the Executive Director, CBE Student Success to:
Enrollment and student recruitment:
- Manage CBE undergraduate student recruitment efforts
- Conduct orientation programs for transfers, new freshmen, and readmitted students for the CBE
- Work with CBE Dean, Executive Directors, Associate Dean, and Department Chairs to conduct undergraduate Admission's events.
- Coordinate with central marketing and communications office to design and develop brochures, videos, and website updates for CBE
- Plan and implement CBE retention events
- Advise approximately 50% of Business Administration and Economics majors
- Assist with updating the undergraduate catalog and updating advising checklists for all 10 programs in the CBE
- Manage student probations and suspensions and work with students trying to appeal
- Partner with the Global Engagement to advise and register incoming international students
- Serve on University committees as needed to support students
- Serve as CBE representative on the Longwood Care Team assisting students of concern
- Approve transfer credits and readmits, advise transfer students and students with 2.0 - 2.33 GPA
- Register incoming students for one or more classes (depends on their class status)
- Manages course registration every semester
- Addresses all student questions/issues
- Provides overrides in CBE courses when necessary
- Communicates with the Registrar's Office and Department Chairs when necessary
- Serve as secretary/treasurer of Beta Gamma Sigma
- Coordinate CBE scholarships and awards program
- Coordinate dean's list verifications and notifications
- Provide leadership in selecting seniors to receive awards and helping to coordinate the Senior Banquet and student activities and picnics at the beginning and end of the semester
Requirements:
- Master's degree preferred, or Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience and/or training.
- Relevant experience in higher education or comparable environments with student populations.
- Able to learn new procedures, follow through and work independently, and take initiative to problem solve as needed.
- The ability to exercise flexibility and professionalism when dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Preferred proficiency and comfort with technology including Student Information Systems, Customer Relationship Management software, and social media management software.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to appropriately prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written and oral.
- Demonstrated customer relations skills with a passion for service and customer satisfaction, willingness to invest time into providing information and problem solving.
- The ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, including some travel for undergraduate or transfer admissions events and activities.
