Job Description:
Longwood University invites qualified applicants for the position of Financial Services Specialist I (T0461) in Accounts Payable. The successful candidate will: audit, verify, and approve all Bank of America Local Card expenses in BOA Works; scan all documents processed in Accounts Payable into DocFinity imaging system; and will assist with additional duties as needed.

This is a part-time, non-exempt, temporary wage position limited to an average of 29 hours per week and 1500 hours maximum per work year. Pay band 4. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits do not accompany this position. A successful criminal background investigation is required. Longwood University invites qualified applicants for the position of Financial Services Specialist I (T0461) in Accounts Payable. The successful candidate will: audit, verify, and approve all Bank of America Local Card expenses in BOA Works; scan all documents processed in Accounts Payable into DocFinity imaging system; and will assist with additional duties as needed.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Audit expense in BOA Local Card Works
- Contact cardholders for any follow-up or additional documentation needed
- Report any issues/discrepancies to Accounts Payable Manager
- Scan all documents into DocFinity imaging system on a daily basis
- File all documents on a daily basis after scanning is complete
- Prepare Banner Payment Request forms as needed
- Record check information on payment request forms prior to check distribution or mailing
- Mail checks or contact departments for check pick-up
- Answer phone and route to appropriate person if necessary
- Key invoices, check requests, travel expense reimbursement vouchers and journals into Banner
- Ensure all coding is present and correct for batch processing prior to upload to Banner Finance
- Ensure expenses adhere to university policies as well as state and federal regulations
- Provide excellent customer service in all duties
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Database and reconciliation work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Experience in higher education
- Banner work experience
- Bank of America Works
