Job Summary
Tulsa Community College is seeking qualified adjunct instructors for the 2022-2023 school year and welcomes applicants at any time. Adjunct instructors are hired within their respective fields for one or more semesters based on the needs of their respective academic school.
A teaching assignment may or may not be available as of this date. Potential adjunct faculty will be contacted as teaching assignments become available.
Salary based on course contract.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet one or more of the following requirements.
A. Master's of Reading (preferred)
B. Bachelor or Science with K-12 Reading Certification
C. Out of state equivalent
OR
Master's in Education or related fields in Education with 9 to 15 hours of Reading
• Related areas include Masters in Elementary Education
• Masters in English with an emphasis on Reading, Reading Pedagogy, Literacy/Language Development, or Developmental Studies.
• Masters with Reading Certification
OR
Master's in Education or related field with three years of experience teaching Reading as an elementary reading / language arts instructor, a middle school reading / language arts instructor, or as a community college instructor.
• Knowledge of developmental and/or ELL and/or diverse learners preferred
Philosophy compatible with that of a comprehensive urban community college.

Our accrediting body, The Higher Learning Commission, expects that faculty typically possess either 1) a Master's degree or higher in the discipline in which they teach, or 2) a Master's degree or higher in any discipline and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline in which they teach.
