Job Description

Perform retail sales, customer service, and merchandising functions associated with the Tiger Team Store and its retail venues located at various athletic facilities.

Assist the manager with providing leadership, fostering teamwork, and motivating and developing employees; maximizing store and seasonal profitability; merchandising and monitoring inventory; coordinating and processing electronic, phone, and Web site orders; and cash management and loss prevention.

Supervise and train part-time, seasonal and student sales associates as assigned.

Establish and maintain high customer service values, including sales staff performance, presentation of merchandise, and customer conflict resolutions.

Ensure sales associates greet, assist, and serve customers, and ensure customers receive positive and professional customer service both in person and over the phone.

Responsible for the direct or indirect training, supervision, and development of all part-time and student sales associates, including reviewing performance and delegating authority.

Lead, mentor, and manage in a positive and professional manner to promote high morale, productivity, and job satisfaction, while encouraging an educational work environment.

Implement effective sales techniques', ensuring constant product knowledge is maintained by all sales staff. Assist manager with scheduling and staffing, including during high-traffic sales events when reassigning sales associates may be necessary to ensure opening, stocking, cashiering, customer service, and closing duties are covered at the main store, temporary structures such as tents and trailers, and other venues.

Ensure effective sales floor presentation by overseeing daily inventory levels, ensuring product is received and stocked efficiently, and sales floor is organized, clean and presentable.

Assist in monitoring and controlling expenses, purchases, and inventory levels.

Ensure proper inventory control, including price changes, inventory levels, and shrinkage; and timely and efficient return of unsold products.

Perform manager on duty responsibilities, including opening and closing the store, and coordinating scheduled events for auxiliary locations.

Assist with loss prevention, and participate in store-wide or division-wide committees.

Assist in cash management operations, prepare daily bank deposits, and resolve cash discrepancies as necessary

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to serve the customer and maintain our mission.

Shift

8:30am – 5:30pm

Monday – Saturdays

Extended hours may be necessary during peak period (i.e. football season)

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of work experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Applicant must be able to work evenings and weekends, including all Mizzou home football game weekends, and other athletic and special events.

Previous retail and cash handling experience with proven outstanding customer service and sales skills.

Ability to stand for long periods of time as the job requires standing and walking on the sales floor, between sales locations at athletic events, and for extended hours during football games.

Ability to do moderate lifting for stocking products, and moving displays.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
