Post Doctoral Associate
Med-Pharmacology and Chemical Biology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (24001455)

A postdoctoral position in cardiovascular physiology is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Sharon George at the University of Pittsburgh. The funded project will focus on sex differences in cardiotoxicity associated with cancer chemotherapeutic agents and underlying mechanisms using mouse and human heart models. The lab’s current projects focus on the cardiotoxic effects of chemotherapy on cardiac metabolism, electrical excitation, and contraction.

Necessary research skills include standard molecular and cellular biology and cardiac physiology assessment techniques. Prior experience using mice, human cell/tissue culture, and imaging (optical mapping) is ideal. In addition, candidates should have outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills and effective written and oral skills. Salary is commensurate with experience and based on current NIH guidelines.
