Assists with providing daily administration to improve the functionality and compatibility of the Reynolda Campus physical security technology and best safeguard the people, assets, and information at Wake Forest University (WFU). Works closely with other professionals in the department in the administration of all university physical security technology including but not limited to card readers, cameras, video recording data, License Plate Recognition system, alarm devices, and infrastructure (network and server administration, database maintenance and management, mechanical and electrical repairs) serving over 10,000 cardholders including residential, commuting, and graduate students, faculty, staff, vendors, off-campus businesses, and temporary access holders.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Monitors and facilitates maintenance and repairs of existing hardware (including, but not limited to, computers, printers, controller panels, networking, servers, alarm doors and wiring) and technical problems.
- Provides feedback on the efficiency of the corrective maintenance service process. Monitors and reviews all corrective maintenance work and quality control.
- Collaborates with Video Management Systems Administrator in reporting service issues with any video components or software.
- Coordinates preventative maintenance work with the contracted security vendor, Facilities and Campus Services, and the Lock Shop and monitors work for quality control.
- Incorporates all new devices into preventative maintenance work.
- Assists the AD, Assets Management in writing and reviewing the standards of service policy.
- Assists the AD, Assets Management in writing and reviewing the standards of installation policy.
- Annually, reviews and trains physical security contractor technicians on the WFU standards of installation and service.
- Coordinates bi-weekly meetings with security contractors for the purpose of receiving updates and feedback on all active service and projects.
- Provides oversight for any on campus capital and non-capital projects assigned by the Director, Physical Security and Deacon OneCard to included bidding process, scheduling, progressive monitoring, testing, and commissioning.
- Assists the AD, Assets Management and Director in reviewing capital assets and End-of-Life Assets Inventory for the purpose of preparing requests for capital renewal.
- Serves as a liaison with Facilities and Campus Services Project Management, Maintenance, and Lock Shop; specifies appropriate hardware, & provides technical support.
- Coordinates with Deacon One, Systems Analyst on the integration of all new project devices into software systems to include mapping, device naming conventions, appropriate access levels and schedules.
- Assists the AD, Assets Management in identifying and providing scope of work recommendations for potential safety and security technology deficiencies that could be leveraged as projects for submission to the Director, Deacon One and Campus Safety and Security Master Planning Committee CSSMPC.
- Administers all card access system infrastructure including, but not limited to, network and server administration, database maintenance and management, mechanical and electrical repairs while serving as a liaison between the Deacon OneCard Office and off campus constituencies including, but not limited to Facilities and Campus Services, Athletics, and WFU Properties maintenance divisions to troubleshoot card access and CCTV system problems and to ensure issues are resolved.
- Provides daily customer service for the Deacon OneCard operations including, but not limited to, configurations, programming, schedules for locks and unlocks and reviewing daily transaction logs, as well as card making, and authorizing cards for access.
- Monitors proper system operations in the installation, repair and appropriate chargebacks of the card access system while working closely with Facilities and Campus Services, Telecommunications, Information Systems, University Police and subcontract personnel.
- Administers equipment installation for any and all ID card processes including, but not limited to, doors, alarm devices, cameras, printers, and system workstations.
- Serves as on-call person on rotational basis and administers primary on-site technical support through the contracted service vendor for access software, hardware, and CCTV systems.
- Monitors and facilitates maintenance and repairs of existing hardware (including, but not limited to, computers, printers, controller panels, networking, servers, alarm doors and wiring) and technical problems.
- Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years experience in computer related field and experience working with data management software, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Should be able to meet requirements of the University's automobile insurance.
- General knowledge of office management techniques.
- Proficiency in Word, Data Systems management, other software packages.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of constituents both verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize workflow and coordinate projects within the office and with other departments across campus.
- Availability for evening and/or weekend work as necessary.
- Experience in network, computer hardware and software and troubleshooting.
- General knowledge of low voltage electrical issues such as door operator hardware, panels, and wiring.
- Responsible for own work.
- Work requires contact with department and University staff, faculty, and students, vendors, and general public.
